Ice

ICE is a choreographic work about a body in danger. It wears itself out in inefficient efforts while telling stories about the explorers of the 20th century. Regardless of security, they set out into hostile grounds in search of their mixed desires, the center of which is the discovery of the unknown world and themselves. What is unknown to us today? While life once flourished in the form of ice, this mass of cold water is now slowly disappearing. How could one possibly fight a slow danger?

Temiz is interested in creating physical intensities through simple protocols. In ICE, she creates temporary sculptures through ropes being pulled, fluctuated, interconnected, wrapped and knotted. Her desires and aspirations are embodied in space by these actions. Past and present coexist under the preservation of the cold. This is an ode to the ones who get in touch with a vast and complex world, try to take hold of it and are always overcome. This solo project is the result of the desire to survive, to celebrate the passage of time and to imagine a utopian future.
